LOS ANGELES, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- The star of the U.S. television series "Lizzie McGuire," will have a Barbie doll fashioned after her called the "Red Carpet Glam Hilary Duff Doll."

Hilary Duff, 19, is going the same route that Reese Witherspoon, Beyonce Knowles and the late Lucille Ball went with the gorgeous 12-inch doll outfitted in a snazzy polka-dot dress and red satin sash, People magazine reported.

"Lizzie McGuire" was a TV series that aired on the Disney Channel from 2001 to 2004 popular with preteens and adolescents.

The vice president of Mattel in charge of marketing Barbie, Jamie Wood, said in a statement that teen queens Duff and Barbie are "great role models to girls and the perfect design duo."

"Not only are they two of the most stylish entertainers, actors and fashion designers, but they also show girls there are no limits to what they can do," he said.
