The popular Web site Zap2it.com reported Saturday that the marathon will help to kick off ABC's "Be Ugly '07" campaign, which will call on Americans to fashion their lives after the bespectacled heroine, who is represented as being "real, smart and passionate."

The fun begins at 9 a.m. on Dec. 31 with the episode where Betty lands her job at "Mode" magazine and meets up with her creepy boss Daniel Meade for the first time. The next 11 hours will feature Betty in her sitcom situations at work, with her family and boyfriend. The series is based on the Colombian television show, "I am Ugly Betty" and was adapted into a U.S. setting by producer Salma Hayek.
