LOS ANGELES, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Actress Penelope Ann Miller has been welcomed into the cast of the new Jessica Simpson film "Blonde Ambition."

The film is remake of the 1988 film "Working Girl," it is being directed by Scott Marshall and also stars Luke Wilson, Andy Dick, Rachael Leigh Cook and Jamie Kennedy, said the Hollywood reporter Thursday.

Miller has been cast as the boss of Simpson's character, who is trying to work her way up through the corporate world.

Sony Pictures is negotiating terms on film distribution, though it is not known whether the film will be released in theaters or go straight-to-DVD.

The big screen next gets a taste of Miller in the comedy "Funny Money," which releases Jan. 19.
