LOS ANGELES, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- "Good Day L.A." host Jillian Barberie is expecting her first child at the age of 40 and says she's thrilled even though she thought she "never wanted kids."

Barberie, also a former "Skating with Celebrities" ice queen, is expecting a baby July 7, a year to the day after Barberie married actor Grant Reynolds, 34, People magazine said.

Barberie is also one of Fox's NFL pre-game hosts and hosted the syndicated show, "EXTreme Dating."

Barberie told People: "We're both thrilled. I feel like I'm at a place in my life where I just am really happy. I never thought I wanted kids -I was a career girl all these years!"

She says she now feels "very blessed."
