NBC, PBS dominate WGA nominations

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- NBC and PBS top this year's nominations for the Writers Guild of America awards for best TV writing, with 13 nods a piece.

PBS scored mostly for its documentaries, while NBC's nominations mostly went to new series such as "Heroes" and "30 Rock" -- as well as holdovers including "The Office" and "Saturday Night Live" -- Zap2it.com said.

PBS received nominations for "American Experience" and the investigative series "Frontline" -- which topped all nominated series with five nods.

HBO received nominations for several of its original series, including "The Sopranos," "Deadwood," "Entourage" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

The WGA Awards will be presented Feb. 11, 2007, in ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York.
