VH-1 delving into secrets of 'Springer'

CHICAGO, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- The VH-1 network is exploring the behind-the-scenes action at the Chicago set of "The Jerry Springer Show" to determine what makes the controversial show tick.

The New York Post reported the cable network has been recording production of the controversial talk show for months and will launch a corresponding reality series beginning in March 2007.

The new series, that is tentatively titled "The Springer Hustle," is part of the music channel's attempt to build off of the success of its other celebrity reality series such as "Flavor of Love."

Basing its search off the success of "Love's" rap star Flavor Flav, VH-1 is reportedly eyeing new series based around other troubled or outspoken celebrities.

The Post said included among those projects are a series about former controversial comedian Andrew Dice Clay and another offering viewers a chance to watch troubled actor Tom Sizemore high on drugs.
