LONDON, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Daniel Radcliffe, known for his title role in the "Harry Potter" film franchise, has been named as the youngest member of Britain's "Rich List."

The 17-year-old actor earned a spot on The Sunday Times' annual list of the country's top 5,000 millionaires by amassing more than $27 million from his role in the immensely popular "Harry Potter" films, the Daily Mail reported.

"He is still at school but he is in a position where he will never have to work again," the list's creator, Philip Beresford, explained. "Money has been pouring in to his personal company, largely from royalties he is paid every time the films are shown on TV."

Beresford added that Radcliffe likely increased his personal worth through a share in the franchise's profits.

The Daily Mail said that while Radcliffe was the youngest member on the list, its top spot belonged to steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, whose individual fortune of nearly $26 billion topped the list.
