LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Andre Benjamin has been signed to co-star with Will Ferrell in a basketball comedy called "Semi-Pro" from New Line Cinema.
In the movie Benjamin will portray a self-styled ladies' man who is the best player on the team, The Hollywood Reporter says.
Written by Scot Armstrong, "Semi-Pro" is the story of the fictional Flint Michigan Tropics whose owner-coach-player Jackie Moon (Ferrell) engages in a desperate attempt to get the team to the big leagues.
Woody Harrelson has also been cast in the movie.
Benjamin is the co-creator of the Cartoon Network's "Class of 3000," and is one of the voices in the upcoming movie "Charlotte's Web." His band, OutKast, received two Grammy nominations Thursday for songs on their "Idlewild" album.
