NEW YORK, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Ed McMahon's "Heeere's Johnny," which introduced "Tonight Show" host Johnny Carson to U.S late-night TV viewers, sits atop TV Land's greatest TV quotes.

TV Land kicks off a weeklong salute to memorable expressions Monday with its "The 100 Greatest TV Quotes & Catchphrases," a five-night countdown of television's quotable quotes from the past 60 years.

Astronaut Neil Armstrong's "One small step... " was second behind McMahon's "Tonight Show" nightly intro.

The special looks at memorable sayings from cartoons, television series, commercials and news programs over the past 60 years such as Donald Trump's "You're fired" from "The Apprentice" to Billy Crystal's "You look mahvelous!" from Saturday Night Live.

"We have found that television is such a huge part of Baby Boomers' DNA that it makes sense that so much of America's pop culture jargon has come from TV," Larry W. Jones, TV Land president, said in a news release. "We are sure that 'The 100 Greatest TV Quotes & Catchphrases' will strike a chord with the TV Generation and will illustrate the influence the medium has had on pop culture."
