BEIJING, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Televangelist Pat Robertson, chairman of the U.S. Christian Coalition, recently traveled to China to meet with Chinese Vice Premier Hui liangyu.

Hui thanked Robertson for his years of helping charity activities in west China, including poverty reduction and disaster relief, China's Xinhua news service reported Wednesday.

The Chinese government said the development of charity causes is important and welcomes all international and foreign charity organizations to carry out various charity activities in China in accordance with Chinese laws, Hui said.

Robertson added that he will continue to make efforts to help the Unites States learn about China and make bigger contributions to the Chinese charity cause.
