LOS ANGELES, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Farrah Fawcett says she is immensely grateful for the fan support she received during her recent battle with cancer, "Access Hollywood" reports.

As part of an exclusive statement to "Access Hollywood," the "Charlie's Angels" TV actress said a collection of fan letters she received during her recently completed cancer treatment proved to be a source of support for her.

"So many of you wrote that I had inspired you in one way or another over the years," Fawcett's statement said. "Well, now you have done the same for me. Your words of encouragement have helped keep me strong during these last six weeks. And now that I have completed my treatments, I am happy to say that the hardest part is over."

The letters Fawcett received were part of an effort by "Access Hollywood" to collect missives of support and present them to the actress during her strenuous weeks of cancer treatment.

In her statement to the TV series, Fawcett also wished all those who offered her support a happy New Year and thanks for their empathetic efforts.
