Coldplay to debut songs in Latin America

NEW YORK, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- The English alternative rock group Coldplay has plans to unveil several new tracks off its forthcoming album during a Latin American tour next year.

The Latin American leg of the band's tour will begin Feb. 14 in Santiago, Chile, where the "Yellow" band will reveal new material scheduled to be part of its fourth studio album, Billboard reported.

The announcement came from a posting on Coldplay's Web site and was accompanied by all the Latin American dates at which the band will debut the tracks from the "X&Y" follow-up album.

"Having received such a phenomenal response to their last Latin American trip in 2003, (the band) personally chose to return to the region," the Internet posting said.

Billboard said that besides playing three dates in Chile, the "Speed of Sound" rockers will also perform in Buenos Aires, Mexico City and Sao Paolo.
