LOS ANGELES, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Actress Glenn Close will star in her first television pilot, playing a lawyer in the unnamed FX drama from Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman.
Sony Pictures Television also has been brought on board to produce the project with the cable network's FX Productions, the Hollywood Reporter said Thursday.
Close previously worked with FX and Sony TV on FX's gritty cop drama "The Shield," which Sony TV co-produces with Fox TV Studios.
She also earned an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her performance as Capt. Monica Rawling on the show's fourth season. The new series is described as a legal thriller set in New York, with Close playing Patty Hughes, America's best high-stakes lawyer.
"It's really fantastic," Todd Kessler said of Close's casting in the pilot. "The relationship that (FX president and general manager) John Landgraf has established with Glenn is going to result in what we hope to be an iconic and seminal work of television."
