NEW YORK, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Actor Danny DeVito is extending an olive branch to Barbara Walters for his behavior on the New York set of "The View."
DeVito wants to reach out to "The View" creator and co-host Walters about his visit to the ABC show, in which he slurred his words, rambled on and sat on co-host Rosie O'Donnell's lap, said Stan Rosenfield, DeVito's publicist. Rosenfield would not comment on reports DeVito, appearing to promote his holiday movie, "Deck the Halls," was drunk while on the air, adding the actor never had a drinking problem, People magazine said Thursday.
On the set, DeVito said he had been clubbing with actor George Clooney, adding, "I knew it was the last seven limoncellos that was going to get me."
He launched into a bleeped discussion of President Bush and the recent elections followed by a raunchy account of having sex in the White House.
Walters and other co-hosts tried unsuccessfully to get DeVito to change the subject.
