LOS ANGELES, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Hollywood actress Pamela Anderson says she wants an amicable divorce from singer Kid Rock to minimize the impact on her children.

The former "Baywatch" star and the rocker, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, both filed for divorce this week. Anderson has asked that, for the sake of her children, the upcoming legal battle be conducted quietly and be fair to both sides, People magazine reported.

Anderson has two children, 8-year-old Dylan and 10-year-old Brandon, from her previous marriage to Motley Crue rocker Tommy Lee.

"I'm very concerned with the press on mine and Bob's divorce. I know I have people who want to defend me or people who want to defend Bob, but my children can read," Anderson wrote on her Web site. "I'd like to resolve this amicably, not fueling fires, and with dignity.

"Kids don't know the difference between fact and tabloid. Does anybody?"

People said Anderson had only kind words about Ritchie, and that she said the split was a mutual decision.
