LOS ANGELES, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Heather Mills has lashed out at British media over the reporting of her split from musical icon Paul McCartney.

The former model told the TV show, "Extra," that ever since she filed divorce papers in July, she and her daughter have lived amid a barrage of media pressure.

"Every single day I wake up, and I can't go out. There are six or seven (paparazzi) outside," said Mills, who added that 3-year-old Beatrice must leave separately due to the photographers' insistent nature.

Mills, who has faced media allegations of anxiety problems and eating disorders, claims the general public has been supportive of her.

"When all this happened, I just thought everybody would blame me," she said. "So I sort of had my head down and people would come up and go, 'How are you?' I don't get any kind of 'ew' in the street from people. Nothing. I get nothing but support; people want to come up and give me a hug."
