B-and-C editor John Higgins dead at 45

HOBOKEN, N.J., Nov. 22 (UPI) -- John Higgins, business editor for Broadcasting and Cable magazine, died of a heart attack in New Jersey this week at the age of 45.

Higgins joined the broadcasting industry publication in 1997 after pioneering the coverage of cable television for Multichannel News.

Daily Variety, a sister publication of B-and-C, called Higgins a well-known figure in the industry with a reputation as a "tough and talented reporter."

Higgins died Monday and is survived by his wife, Deborah.
