EVANSTON, Ill., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus has been tabbed to speak at next year's commencement ceremonies for Northwestern University in Illinois.
The Emmy award-winning actress has signed on to make the graduation speech at Northwestern University's 149th annual commencement exercises, during which she will receive an honorary doctor of the arts degree, a news release from the college reported.
"We are very pleased to have Ms. Louis-Dreyfus as our commencement speaker," said University President Henry S. Bienen said of the actress, who counts the school as her alma mater. "She has on numerous occasions spoken of the importance of Northwestern to her career and her life. We look forward to welcoming her back."
Louis-Dreyfus, known for her award-winning turn as Elaine on "Seinfeld," already has a degree from the university's School of Communication and will revisit her scholarly past at the June 15 event.
The actress later followed up the Emmy award she won from the popular NBC sitcom with another Emmy for her efforts on her current TV series, "The New Adventures of Old Christine."
