LOS ANGELES, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Actress Anne Hathaway is considering joining the Hollywood adaptation of the former TV sitcom "Get Smart."
The 24-year-old actress is negotiating to star alongside "The Office" star Steve Carell in the upcoming film version of the TV comedy originally created by director Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, said Daily Variety.
If "The Devil Wears Prada" actress joins the production when filming begins in March, she will reprise the role once made popular by actress Barbara Feldon on the secret agent-based series.
Meanwhile, Carell has already signed onto the film to revisit the lead role once embodied by comedian Don Adams.
Daily Variety said the Warner Bros. adaptation will work from a screenplay from Tom Astle and Matt Ember, with Peter Segal taking on directorial duties.
