Fox eyeing righty news satire show

HOLLYWOOD, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Fox News is reportedly considering airing a right-leaning news comedy show for a U.S. audience on the same line as Comedy Central's "Daily Show."

The program is being produced for an audience that enjoys laughs based on current events but isn't inclined to tune in to the "Daily Show's" frequent skewering of U.S. President George Bush and conservatives in general.

"It would tip more right as 'The Daily Show' tips left," Executive Producer Joel Surnow told The Hollywood Reporter.

Surnow added the unnamed show would not follow the conservative party line without question.

"It's not going to hit you over the head with partisan politics," he told the Reporter. "It'll hit anything that deserves to be hit."
