LILONGWE, Malawi, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Weeks after pop star Madonna adopted her new son in the African nation of Malawi, the boy's father has revealed he has remarried and his wife is pregnant.

While 32-year-old Yohane Banda has not attempted to use his marriage to his Flora Kamanga and their impending child to regain custody of baby David from the pop singer, he told the Sunday Times of London that he has not ruled out at least a temporary reunion.

"I know his new mum will be bringing him (David) back home from time to time to know his growing family," said the Malawi native. "I understand Madonna has enrolled him in an expensive nursery and although I am poor, I still want the best for my son and God brought us Madonna. I am thankful to this woman."

The Times said that the creation of a new family by Banda adds extra fuel to the ongoing controversy surrounding Madonna's adoption, that has been criticized by human rights groups for its questionable legal basis.
