LONDON, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Singer Rod Stewart has revealed that his 27-year-old daughter, Kimberley, has developed liver disease from drinking too much alcohol.
Stewart also said that Kimberley's liver is so deteriorated that doctors have told her to quit alcohol altogether or risk putting her life in danger, The Daily Mail reported.
"She said to me, 'Dad, I'm half Scottish -- I thought I was allowed to drink a lot'," said Stewart. "I said, 'No, darling, it doesn't work like that'."
The 27-year-old daughter of Stewart and his first wife, Alana, has previously made visits to Alcoholics Anonymous.
Stewart told Rolling Stone his daughter has seen liver specialists and "hasn't had a drink or cigarette in three months, and she feels great".
Kimberley is not Stewart's only child to battle with alcohol, his 26-year-old son Sean has also had a drug and alcohol problem.
