LOS ANGELES, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Actor Steve Carell, best known as the horrible boss on the U.S. comedy "The Office," admits he has virtually no technological abilities.
During a break from portraying embarrassing boss Michael Scott on the popular NBC series, Carell confessed to Parade Magazine that his technological prowess ends with his cell phone and microwave.
"My 5-year-old daughter navigates the computer better than I do," said Carell, who names toasters as one of his technological triumphs. "It's disheartening to watch her. I'm just grateful that I haven't passed on my techno-dunce gene."
Carell, who won a 2006 Golden Globe for his performance in "The Office," says he holds no ill will for machines and admits the fault lies with him.
"Really, I don't blame it on the machine. I know it's me," he told Parade. "Technology is not going to go away. But I'm going to embrace the simple way of life."
