Man sued over Buffett-themed Web site

GALVESTON, Texas, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Jimmy Buffett is suing a Texas man for allegedly using Buffett's trademarks to sell clothing, novelties and other items.

Robert Akard's Web site, www.underonehut.com, sells T-shirts, beach-themed decorations and such items as the "Hula-Tini" handpainted martini glass, the Galveston Daily News reported.

Buffett's federal complaint alleges that Akard's Web site falsely purported to be "Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Online Store for Merchandise."

The newspaper said a federal judge in Nevada shut down Akard's last Buffett-related endeavor, a Web site called parrotsofthecaribbean.com.
