LAS VEGAS, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- A fake wedding involving wax figures of film actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt at a famed Las Vegas wax museum has been canceled by the celebrity couple.

The wedding was to take place on Wednesday at the Madame Tussaud's wax museum on the Vegas Strip, but was called off after representatives for the celebrities objected on their clients' behalf, said TMZ.com.

"I personally found it a little odd that they were re-creating a wedding that never really happened," said Pitt's representative, Cindy Guagenti.

The realistic-looking wax wedding was to feature the couple tying the knot with Pitt's "Ocean's Eleven" co-star, George Clooney, serving as best man.

The museum had planned the wedding as a way to unveil its new Angelina Jolie wax figurine, but said it would honor the couple's request with a simpler debut for the statue.

TMZ.com reported that the real-life couple is currently in India, where Jolie is completing filming on her latest project and they are both visiting area orphanages possibly as part of an effort to adopt a child together.
