LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- California rapper The Game wants to prove the success of his first album was no fluke.
The MC, whose real name is Jayceon Taylor, says his new release, "Doctor's Advocate," is "a hard album of ... gangsta rap" that he feels surpasses his double-platinum 2005 debut "The Documentary."
"I'm focused on making my mark in hip-hop and stamping The Game in hip-hop's elite," says the rapper, who prior to "Doctor's Advocate" severed ties with mentors 50 Cent and Dr. Dre. "I'm not really worried about what's happening in the rap game outside of what I'm trying to accomplish."
"Doctor's Advocate" features guest appearances by Kanye West, Nas, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes and Floetry's Marsha Ambrosius, as well as production by hitmakers Just Blaze, Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am, Scott Storch and Swizz Beatz.
