Ludacris does bit to help runaways

NEW YORK, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Popular U.S. hip-hop artist and actor Ludacris is using the fame and good will of his non-profit foundation to help search for young runaways.

The Web site allhiphop.com announced during National Runaway Prevention Month that the Ludacris Foundation will partner with the National Runaway Switchboard, a national communications system that assists youth who have run away or who are considering fleeing their homes and families.

The altruistic partnership happens to coincide with the release of "Runaway Love," the second single from Ludacris' latest album, "Release Therapy." There will be an official partnership announcement at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola in New York on Tuesday.

Allhiphop.com reported that Ludacris recently said during a visit to an Atlanta-based runaway shelter: "This is not just a runaway problem; this is my problem -- this is your problem. This is our problem. This is our opportunity to lend a hand."
