VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Denise Richards, will not face criminal charges for allegedly tossing two laptop computers off a balcony in a beef with Canadian paparazzi.

People Magazine reported that Canadian police said Friday that they will not charge the actress who was on the set of her new movie, "Blonde and Blonder," even though one of the computers reportedly struck an 80-year-old woman in a wheelchair.

"The photographers, Denise Richards and her management company have agreed to settle the matter civilly regarding the damages to the photographers' laptops," Mountie spokesman Cpl. Peter Thiessen told People.

Richards' camp said that several unauthorized people showed up on the set and that an altercation ensued. A rep for the actress, told People that the photographers were fortunate that the laptops were the "only things that were tossed over the balcony."
