Hawk, called "the Michael Jordan" of skateboarding, told CBS News Thursday he never thought he could make a career out of the sport. He told the Early Show about his project on the Fuse Network in which he visits parks put together by the Tony Hawk Foundation.
"It's called 'The Secret Skateboard Tour,'" Hawk explained. "We take a group of pros, we show up unannounced, and we document the whole thing, from the kids' reactions when we get there to the riding to -- by the time we leave, there's like 500 people there.
Hawk also described his new video game "Project 8" as his best yet, offering a new motion-capture system.
