Will Smith nervous about daughter dating
NEW YORK, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- As part of Van Halen's upcoming U.S. tour, Eddie Van Halen has tabbed his son, Wolfgang, to serve as band's new bassist.
The 15-year-old will line up alongside his father and his drummer uncle, Alex, but Billboard magazine reported that the rock band is currently seeking a lead singer to head up its 2007 tour.
With rumors increasing that the iconic rockers have been eyeing former lead David Lee Roth to return to the lineup, Roth recently said such a move will likely soon occur.
"I see it absolutely as an inevitability," Roth said. "To me, it's not rocket surgery. It's very simple to put together. And as far as hurt feelings and water under the dam, like what's-her-name says to what's-her-name at the end of the movie 'Chicago' -- 'So what? It's showbiz!' So I definitely see it happening."
Despite his age, Eddie Van Halen said he supports the decision to use his teenage son in place of departed bassist Michael Anthony.
"If I excel at the speed of sound, he excels at the speed of light," the elder Van Hales told Billboard. "This kid is just a natural."
