NEW YORK, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Opera fans can get a sneak peak of the upcoming Rossini's "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" ("The Barber of Seville") on "The Late Show With David Letterman."
It marks the first time Letterman, an opera fan himself, has had an opera production as a musical guest, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.
The show will feature the six principal singers and a chorus of 12 as well as a 22-piece orchestra. The chorus and orchestra will be halved to fit on the stage at the Ed Sullivan Theater, but it will be the biggest musical production "The Late Show" has staged.
"Barber" opens Friday at the Met in New York, with six performances through Nov. 27.
