Streisand: Show heckler had been comped

CHICAGO, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Singer Barbra Streisand says the now-infamous heckler who threw a drink at her during a recent Florida concert hadn't even paid for his ticket.

She said the unruly guest wasn't a paying customer but rather a pal of the crew of a friend's yacht for whom she had left tickets to the show, Streisand said in an interview published in the Chicago Tribune.

"No good deed goes unpunished," she laughed when asked about the incident.

Last week's Ft. Lauderdale show was disrupted when the audience member in question pitched a glass in her immediate direction as she carried out an on-stage skit critical of President George W. Bush.

The incident made national headlines for its political overtones, but Streisand told the Tribune the guy wasn't so much a pro-Bush heckler as someone who was drunk and in the midst of a dust-up with his date.
