Election Day finds Rather on comedy net

WASHINGTON, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Former CBS newsman Dan Rather will team up on U.S. election night with self-proclaimed "fake" news anchor Jon Stewart on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show."

Rather will be Stewart's guest on what the cable network calls its "Midterm Midtacular" where "The Daily Show" and it's spin-off show, "The Colbert Report," join forces to cover the vote counting in Tuesday's fiercely fought midterm congressional elections, ABC News said Monday.

Stewart playfully pokes fun at both Republicans and Democrats in a satirical manner. The Daily Show's previous election coverage -- "Indecision 2000" and "Indecision 2004" -- earned Emmy and Peabody awards, as has Rather.
