NEW DELHI, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Globetrotting U.S. actress Angelina Jolie spent the weekend in India, touring U.N. refugee camps with her young son, Maddox.

Jolie and 5-year-old Maddox visited camps for Afghan and Myanmar refugees in the capital of New Delhi as part of her role as goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commission for Refugees.

Press Trust India said Saturday that the pair listened to a recital of religious music played by Afghan Sikh kids and visited the small home of a woman with three children whose husband had been arrested in Myanmar.

The plan calls for a meeting Sunday between the actress and Anand Sharma, India's external affairs meeting.

Jolie just happened to be in India. She is filming her new movie "A Mighty Heart," which is based on the life of slain journalist Daniel Pearl.
