Maury Povich sued for $100 million

NEW YORK, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- TV personality Maury Povich is seeking a gag order against Bianca Nardi, who worked on the set of his show and claims that she was sexually harassed.

"It's an absolute irony coming from defendants that make their living airing other people's troubles in a public forum," said Nardi's lawyer, Bruce Baron. "If they are innocent of the allegations, what is the concern?"

The New York Daily News reported that in April Nardi claimed that Povich's show was full of scandals, including porn, booze and sexual pressure behind the scenes. She also alleged that Povich was cheating on his wife, journalist Connie Chung, with his show's producer, Donna Ingber.

Nardi's $100 million lawsuit was put into arbitration and may not even be heard until next year, but Povich's lawyer wants a confidentiality order.

"Claimant and her attorneys have repeatedly demonstrated their desire to try their case in the media," wrote attorney Kathleen McKenna, referring to Baron's public statements, said the Daily News.
