Jack White splits time between bands

LONDON, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- The White Stripes' Jack White has announced that he is "divided totally 50/50" between his old band and his new band The Raconteurs.

White formed The Raconteurs with pal Brendan Benson and has been playing guitar on tour with them for most of the year, Britain's Uncut Magazine reported.

Even though White has been touring with his other band, he is still working on a new White Stripes album with band mate Meg White.

"I have to honestly say that I'm divided totally 50/50 between The Raconteurs and The White Stripes. My brain now has two options for songs that I write, and it's a really nice luxury to have as a songwriter," said White.

"I have so many songs now for another White Stripes record. Meg and I are working on songs during breaks from touring with The Raconteurs," he added.
