LOS ANGELES, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- After dying horrifically in slasher movies, several U.S. actors left their movie glory -- or gory? -- for other, less deadly pursuits.
Some, such as megastar Johnny Depp, moved from horror flicks to Hollywood's A list, the New York Daily News said Sunday.
Other still toil to live and die, mainly die, another day in horror movies.
Three stars have left the business entirely.
Tawny Moyer, who was stabbed in the back in "Halloween II," left television appearances behind to paint and sell ceramics out of her Hollywood home. Her husband is actor Patrick St. Espirit, who starred in "United 93."
Nancy Kyes, performing under the name Nancy Loomis, actually died three times for director John Carpenter of "Halloween" fame, the Daily News said. She now sculpts and exhibits her work in museums around Southern California, where she lives.
Bill Randolph, who was offed in "Friday the 13th Part II" during a sexual encounter, now is a Daily News special sections senior designer.
