NEW YORK, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Mobb Deep's Albert "Prodigy" Johnson and producer Alan "The Alchemist" Maman have been arrested in New York on gun possession charges.
Allhiphop.com said the two were arrested early Thursday after police stopped their bulletproof Chevy Suburban for making a U-turn into oncoming traffic. Police said that as they approached the vehicle they saw Prodigy, born Albert Jackson Jr., trying to conceal something.

A subsequent search turned up a .22-caliber handgun.
Both were charged with criminal possession of a weapon, Allhiphop said.
Prodigy was released on $75,000 bail. The Alchemist was released on his own recognizance.
