Beck CD, show loaded with extras

NEW YORK, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- U.S. rocker Beck's new CD, "The Information," and his new stage show in support of the CD feature some extras rarely seen in the rock 'n' roll business.

"The Information" features a design-your-own-cover options and a disc of homemade music videos, Rolling Stone reported.

The magazine said Beck's show at New York's Madison Square Garden Thursday featured a crowd of wooden marionettes dressed in outfits that matched perfectly those of the band. The puppets even lip-synched some lyrics, creating a mirror effect, Rolling Stone said.

Halfway through the show, Beck announced it was "time for dinner," and stagehands then brought out a dining set -- complete with silverware and glasses -- as guests seated themselves.

In addition to all the novelties, Beck played some favorites including "Devils Haircut" and "Elevator Music." He also covered "Do You Realize" and "Golden Age" by the Flaming Lips, Rolling Stone said.
