Snoop may face charges in OC airport beef

SANTA ANA, Calif., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Rapper Snoop Dogg could face charges stemming from confiscation of a banned item he was allegedly carrying in a carry-on bag at a Southern California airport.

Snoop was cited last month at John Wayne Airport in Orange County for carrying a retractable baton that was found in his laptop computer bag by security screeners.

The Orange County Register said Wednesday that the baton was confiscated since it is on the list of banned carry-on items.

The newspaper said Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, told authorities he was going to use the device in a music video; however the sheriff's department turned the matter over to the district attorney for possible prosecution.

Broadus was not arrested at the airport and was allowed to catch his flight to San Francisco.
