Minnelli lends her vocal skills on the track "Mama" from their new "emo scene" album, NME.com reported Wednesday.

The band was searching for a female artist for the track and they told producer Rob Cavallo that they wanted Minnelli.

"We have discussed a woman forever but then I eventually I just did the woman's voice. I was like, It just seems like such a cop out," said singer Gerard Way.

"He (Cavallo) said: 'Well, who do you want to get?' and I was like 'We should get Liza Minnelli. Why not?'" He added.

Cavallo then called Liz Rosenberg, who is Minelli's publicist, and worked out the deal.
