NEW YORK, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Emmy-winning "Monk" star Tony Shalhoub will join "Everybody Loves Raymond" co-star Patricia Heaton in an upcoming New York stage production of "The Scene."

Playbill reported that Second Stage Theatre's off-Broadway production of Theresa Rebeck's work will mark Shalhoub's first return to the stage in eight years.

The New York debut of "The Scene," directed by Rebecca Taichman officially opens on Jan. 11, 2007 and is slated to run through Feb. 4, 2007.

In "The Scene," Shalhoub plays an out-of-work New York actor married to a news producer, played by Heaton. Actress Anna Camp plays a young and naive Ohioan who Shalhoub becomes entangled in an affair with.

In addition to "Monk," Shalhoub's credits include "Wings," "Stark Raving Mad," and a stage production of "Waiting for Godot." Heaton won two Emmy's for her role opposite Tim Allen in the CBS sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond" and has also been seen in ABC's "The Path to 9/11." She made her Broadway debut in "Don't Get God Started."
