Terry Jones doing well after surgery

LONDON, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Actor Terry Jones, formerly of the "Monty Python" group, has undergone surgery for colon cancer and is doing well, his agent said.

The 64-year-old star was "in good spirits and the operation went very well", said agent Jodi Shields told the BBC Monday.

Jones also recently joined former "Monty Python" colleagues Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin for the London debut of the musical "Spamalot."

Jones directed the three "Monty Python films" as well as "The Wind in the Willows."

"Terry's doctors are very cheered with an early diagnosis of possible colon cancer for which he has now had routine surgery in a London private hospital," said Shields in the BBC report..
