NEW YORK, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- U.S. singer Courtney Love is sober and working on a comeback album after a very public struggle with drugs, Billboard magazine reported.
In 2005, the former Hole singer was ordered into a rehab program after she admitted in court that she'd violated her probation terms by using drugs. Love, 42, said at that point she knew it was either rehab or jail.
The previous February, Love was sentenced to three years probation and was ordered into anger management counseling after being accused of a misdemeanor assault of a woman at her former boyfriend's home.
Love is working on her new album with producer and former 4 Non Blondes singer Linda Perry.
Love, who has been sober for more than a year, told Billboard she worked on her new album while in rehab. She said the final result is "a very personal album."
