Beckhams may become Sir and Lady

LONDON, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Victoria Beckham, the British pop star formerly known as Posh Spice, could soon have a new name -- Lady Beckham.

Hello Magazine reports that Prime Minister Tony Blair, anxious to add to his populist reputation before he leaves office, plans to recommend Beckham's husband -- soccer star David Beckham -- for the 2007 Honors List. He would become Sir David.

Beckham remains one of Britain's most popular sports stars, even though his home team is Real Madrid.

His wife was in Japan Thursday to introduce her new jewelry line.
