LOS ANGELES, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Actress Kelly Rutherford and her husband, Daniel Giersch welcomed their first child together Wednesday in Los Angeles.

Their son, Hermés Gustaf Daniel Giersch, was born in the morning at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, reported People magazine.

Rutherford and the baby are resting at the couple's home.

"We live so close to the hospital, we thought we could either hang out here and eat hospital food or go home and order take-out from La Scala," she told People.

"We are all feeling good and I am so blissed out and tired," she said, adding that being a new mom is "just amazing. It's incredible to see these little beings."

Rutherford's most well known role was former prostitute Megan Lewis Mancini from 1996-99 on "Melrose Place."
