NEW YORK, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Twisted Sister is giving hard rock fans a Christmas present this year.

The group's new album, "A Twisted Christmas," features headbanging versions of 10 holiday favorites, including "White Christmas," "Silver Bells," "The Christmas Song" and a revision of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" called "Heavy Metal Christmas."

"Christmas has been done in every style of music," says frontman Dee Snider. "There's a gazillion versions of these songs, but no (heavy) metal versions. This is a novelty record; nobody buys new albums by old artists, but they might actually buy this."

Twisted Sister is best known for its '80s hits "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock."

"A Twisted Christmas," which also commemorates Twisted Sister's 30th anniversary, is intended to be the group's final album.
