Jones not upset over Hoffman's 'Capote'

NEW YORK, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- British actor Toby Jones says in New York he doesn't worry about being the second actor seen playing Truman Capote on film in slightly over a year.

While Jones is winning raves for his performance in "Infamous," the film hits the big screen mere months after Philp Seymour Hoffman won an Oscar for his portrayal of the literary icon in 2005's "Capote."

"You have all this possibility of looking at so many issues, it doesn't surprise me that two films should be written," Jones told reporters. "The fact that they happened at the same time is funny."

Jones said that when he got his part, he felt "this terror and this genuine excitement at it."

"The amount of work I was going to have to do, the transformation I was going to have to go undergo," he recalled. "The idea of, in some way, begrudging another actor a go at the same part, a brilliant actor who gets to do it brilliantly, I would have to be pretty distracted to worry about that. All I could do is the best job I could do. I also had the luxury of being able to go back to London. This whole 'Oscar buzz' thing is new to me."
