LOS ANGELES, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- U.S. actor John Forsythe, best known for playing Blake Carrington in Aaron Spelling's primetime soap "Dynasty," has colon cancer, his spokesman says.
Forsythe, 88, was receiving treatment at a Los Angeles hospital since being diagnosed with the disease Sept. 28, E! Entertainment Television reported.
The news about Forsythe, who also played the unseen millionaire Charles Townsend on Spelling's 1970s crime drama "Charlie's Angels," comes a week after original Angel Farrah Fawcett confirmed she was battling intestinal cancer.
No other news about Forsythe's condition was released, E! said.
The stage, TV and character actor also starred as single playboy father Bentley Gregg in the 1950s sitcom "Bachelor Father" and hosted "World of Survival" in the 1970s.
In the late 1940s he helped found the Actors Studio, where he met other promising young actors, including Marlon Brando, Julie Harris, Rod Serling and 14-year-old Joan Collins, who would co-star with him on "Dynasty," E! Entertainment Television said.
