Rock band has strict alcohol schedule

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- If it's Thursday, it must be Jack Daniels and gin for The Killers rock band as it tours across the United States.

Contract riders included in the Las Vegas-based Killers' 2006 tour specified that Jack and gin are scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, Thesmokinggun.com said. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays call for Maker's Mark whiskey and Absolut vodka. Sunday's bar is reserved for tequila and Jameson Irish Whiskey.

Those requirements are in addition to the 96 beers, two dozen cans of cider and a couple of bottles of red wine band members have waiting for them backstage before every concert, Thesmokinggun.com said.

Quite a change for the band that had a 2004 rider seeking "cheddar cheese enough for 6 people," Thesmokinggun.com said. Back in the day, The Killers also required only a single liter of Jack Daniels and an unspecified amount of vodka, the Web site said.
